A Ruckus in Harrisburg
John Murphy, Independent congressional candidate was needlessly removed (and possibly arrested), from the room where Romanelli's signature's are being checked, while volunteering to help Romanelli and the greens check signatures. The Democrats tactics showed desperation as they called for Murphy to be arrested for saying a four letter word in frustration over the democrats nitpicking over technicalities in the signatures. The Democrats are trying to impose fascist rule in the room and it's getting quite ridiculous. It's nice to hear independent voices getting frustrated over the process and the Democrats Machiavellian tactics. Democrats seem to be the only ones to see serious flaws in most of the signatures.

The Democrats are trying to i
Considering the GOP funded the signature drive, this is really shocking!
The PA Greens have turned into caricatures at this point.
The GOP did not fund the sign
The GOP did not fund the signature drive. Individuals did. You probably think all political donors should swear a loyalty oath, we however do not require one. As long as the individual is a good American I see no reason why they could not donate to a political campaign. I donated money to Democrats in the past, should they return my money? Your comment is totally off point.
OK, how about GOP Donors, ins
OK, how about GOP Donors, instead of the GOP?
As I said, caricature.

Hey maybe Casey should send back all his blue cross and Republican/ Corporate money too. If Casey does, so will we. If you don't like our Robin Hood Politics, that's fine. We think it's quite amusing.
Which Robin Hood? The one wh
Which Robin Hood? The one who was allegedly the leader of a group of brigand Anglo-Saxons after the Norman Conquest or returned crusader protected Richard's throne. See, I get your metaphor, but honestly, I do not really think it is applicable. And, I really do not like arguing semantics, but I really cannot understand what makes anyone in the Green Party think they have a Robin Hood claim.
First, it would assume that you are effective--which the Greens are not. One thing we all learn from Robin Hood legends is the importance of strategy. Since your party has none--no claim.
Second, depending on the particular character you are refering too, it could mean different things.
Last, it would mean that you are actually helping the poor. But, since you do not have a strategy other than skewing votes away from viable candidates who can actually do something and causing controversy--you do not even do that.
So--if you think claiming Robin Hood politics is a moral claim--it is not. Do not be fooled into such easy metaphor.
Hey, you don't see it our way
Hey, you don't see it our way, that's fine, to each his own.
So should Casey give back Republican money?
The scenario you discuss is e
The scenario you discuss is entirely different than the one DanUA is presenting. You merely trying to obsure the fact that the Green Party is USED as a tool by the GOP--not because GOP donors actually care about the party.
On the contrary, if a GOP donor gave to Casey, it is likely because they wanted to see him do well or (like some people do) hedge. I have no problem with either. Especially since a candidate like Casey will, necessarily draw from moderate GOP candidates when the alternative is Santorum.
I do have a problem with a party like the Greens screaming they are legitimate, but being used as a tool by the party so different in ideolgy that there is no logical connection in a conservative giving to a Green--other than wanting to dillute the pool. You may want to take that money--but you are clearly taking from the rich and giving nothing but defeat to the poor. It is silly to claim otherwise. Maybe if the Greens devoted their time to starting viable local organizations this would not be the case. But, because you want to play spoiler--that is what you get--a bad reputation.
Democrats can take money from
Democrats can take money from registered republicans, but Green's can't? Sure, that makes sense.
So there is a double standard for Democrats? Okay, I see your logic.
Go ahead and keep telling Greens and liberals they don't matter and they shouldn't vote with their values. Do you you know that's called creating a spiral of silence, and one of the most evil political tactics. Green's and liberals do not agree with Bob Casey. They don't own liberal votes, they are taking them for granted. Face it. Liberals want to be represened. Don't deny them that right.
Haha. Sorry but, considering
Haha. Sorry but, considering your party collected its signatures by obscuring what people were signing, with funds directly from Santorum's buddies, this liberal is speaking his voice: The Green Party of Pennsylvania is not doing itself, and any real third party movement, any favors.
Our signature collectors did
Our signature collectors did not obscure anything. If you are going to make things up, you are really not worth arguing with.

I walked by them day after day this summer. And never once did I hear them say they were trying to get a Green Party candidate on the Senate ballot. Instead, I would be asked something like "Do you want to sign a petition to raise the minimum wage."

Some sympathy
There has been a lot of Green hating around recently. I just want to say that while I won't be volunteering for or donating to any Greens, I feel for them. I believe they genuinely want to do some good (you don't go petitioning for fun, believe me, and anyone who thinks you do has never done it).
So I feel for them and appreciate where they are coming from. I'd probably take GOP money too if I was doing their thing. I mean, if Santorum gave money to a health center or a food pantry, would that make the service evil?
Greens honestly believe their work will one day bear fruit, so it's worth it to them. I don't believe it will and most of us on here don't believe it will, and that's why we eschew it. But I feel for them. So no hate from me. Do your thing. We all gotta do our thing.
