Jan 22, 2008

“Democrats and Republicans. It is time for change.”

Hello everyone I would like to announce, that I am running for State Senate within the Republican Party. At the same time, I am also looking for assistance and volunteers for all positions; operations, signatures, flyers, phone, etc...

Join something great. Thanks

Good luck Roy. I cannot

Good luck Roy. I cannot vote for you. I live in the first senate district. I have a choice between an incumbent facing federal charges and a challenger with about one-quarter the resume that you do. Oh how I wish someone like you were challenging Fumo instead of Dicker. Where can we send contributions? The girls are getting together for drinks tonight after dancing lessons. I'll order something hot and spicy in your honor. And I will have them cut some checks.

Positions?

Roy-

OK, we know three things about you: your name, where you're running, and your party. Can you tell us anything else about you?

You might want to update the website in that respect

I couldn't actually ascertain your position on any issue - only broad statements like: "Crime is another problem here in the city and in the country."

More content will be added, Roy Philipose

Hello Everyone,

As I just started my campaign and website, more content and biographical information will be added soon, a work in progress.

In terms of specific questions...

Pebbles, you may not be able to vote for me now, but maybe in the future. In terms of future contributions, in due time.

Zorro, is there anything specific you would like to know? You can learn more about me in my book. I say a lot. I can tell you that, Benjamin Franklin was my great-great-grandfather. (kidding)

DE II, in terms of positions on issues.
I offer broad statements, as I am a broad person, offering broad ideas, looking at it from a broad perspective. I am working on another issues paper. When that is complete, I will revise to include positions to your satisfaction.

Thanks, Roy

One issue w/an issue

To quote from your site:

In our city and country, taxes have gotten very high.

Sorry, wrong answer. Do taxes seem high to some people? Sure. But the US' tax burden is much lower than that of other industrialized countries.

Taxes aren't just money which we pay into a black box, never to see again. Taxes are the way by which a civilized society raises funds to maintain critical services. Perfect example: the deteriorating roads + bridges of America won't fix themselves w/o tax money to pay for their maintenance. Another example: kids won't educate themselves w/o schools, and you can't get schools w/o paying teachers, etc. Another example, likely near to a Republican's heart: you can't 'provide for the common defence' w/o paying for soldiers, weapons, etc.

The GOP's mantra of taxes=bad has been proven to not work. Unless, that is, you think the country's been put on the right path by nearly 30 years of slashing taxes + services to the bone.
