Michael Nutter Surges Ahead of Fattah

From The Next Mayor Blog:

Nutter internal poll shows results of advertising

"Our reviewers had some concerns about Michael Nutter's I AM NOT JOHN STREET advertising messages, but the Nutter campaign says they're working.
They have a new internal poll that shows Nutter surging ahead of Chaka Fattah, behind only Tom Knox. The numbers show:

Tom Knox: 27
Michael Nutter: 18
Chaka Fattah: 15
Bob Brady: 11
Dwight Evans: 6
Undecided: 23

This poll was taken after Nutter's most recent ad started airing. The Daily News' most recent Keystone Poll was taken earlier in that ad buy."

Nutter Releases Emergency Management Plan

A thorough analysis is done at The Next Mayor blog. See link below:

http://blogs.phillynews.com/dailynews/nextmayor/2007/02/more_news_of_tod...

The entire plan can be found at www.nutter2007.com.

I am always impressed by the detail in Nutter's plans. I said it before, and I'll say it again, no other candidate has shown the understanding of a city budget and the way municipal government works like Michael Nutter. This guy really knows his sh*t. He knows it well enough to give us the details.

When Nutter proposes stuff, I don't have to ask "how are you going to do it?" He places the "how to" right into the plan.

Common Theme: Nutter Wins Yet Another Mayoral Forum; Evans and Fattah are No Shows

Having attended so many of these mayoral forums, it became clear to me at tonight's Chestnut Hill Civic Assoc. Mayoral Forum that Michael Nutter is head and shoulders above the rest of the pack. The real interesting thing is... THEY KNOW THAT TOO!

See a video clip that Nutter posted already:

Dwight Evans and Chaka Fattah didn't bother to show up, even after confirming that they would attend. Word on the street is that they blew the forum off for fundraisers. Fattah supposedly was at a fundraiser in New York. I don't know if it's true, but that is what I was told. BTW, many people told me they were pissed that Evans and Fattah blew the event off.

NUTTER'S FUNDRAISING MUSCLE IS IMPRESSIVE

See Inquirer article below:

INQUIRER STAFF WRITER
Firing an early shot at his rivals, mayoral candidate Michael Nutter issued a news release today saying he has close to $1.4 million in the bank - more than any other candidate has reported to date.

The former City Councilman was not required to disclose how much he raised in 2006 until Jan. 31, when state law requires all candidates for office to file campaign finance reports for the previous calendar year.

But in doing so, he has demonstrated his fund-raising muscle while getting a jump on his Democratic rivals: U.S. Rep. Chaka Fattah, businessman Tom Knox and state Rep. Dwight Evans.

Nutter released no details of his campaign spending and fund-raising, issuing only a two-page statement that said he collected the money within the limits set by Philadelphia's campaign-finance law. He also said he collected donations from more than 1,700 donors.
