Casino-Free Hilariousness
Kevin Nalty, of Cubebreak and WillVideoForFood.com has made a hilarious new video for Casino-Free Philadelphia that perfectly captures the absurdity of the casino industry and their PR machine. Our favorite part is when the casino executive points out that the 1500 ft buffer equals an outrageous 18,000 inches.
On May 15, cast your vote on the casino issue at PhillysBallotBox.org.
PhillysBallotBox.org is a project of Casino-Free Philadelphia. While Casino-Free Philadelphia continues the "Yes on #1" campaign; Philly's Ballot Box is a separate effort to set up a full election.
PhillysBallotBox.org. is a citizens' ballot in defiance of an unjust and undemocratic judicial decision. There will be ballot boxes located in every State House district within Philadelphia and in dozens of high traffic areas around the city. Registered voters will also be able to cast their vote through our secure website, and by calling our voter hot line. Every Philadelphian will have an opportunity to vote on the very same question that the Supreme Court removed from the ballot, and the results will be checked against official voter rolls.

proxy vote on casinos
Well, we might not have gotten casinos on the ballot, but that doesn't mean we can't vote against them. Basically most of the elected officials that have been in office during or since the mid 1990s didn't work hard enough to control where the casinos went until it was too late. So get them the hell out. Everyone claims to be anti-casino now, but the old guard already dropped the ball on this issue. There are plenty of new, progressive candidates out there this year that might actually do some work on this. We need everyone to hit phillysballotbox.org , but we also need to vote for the people who are going to respect the results of that poll. It's not like people just started speaking out about this, the guys in office just started pretending to listen.
Vote YES on #1
Vote NO on wallflower officials. This isn't a spectator sport.
