Citizen Palin: Alaska's Top 2 Newspapers & Republicans Weigh In
Submitted by Sam Durso on Sun, 08/31/2008 - 3:09pm.
Since we in the Lower 48 don't know Sarah Palin very well, Huffington Post's Greg Mitchell asks the Alaskans who do to comment on her readiness to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. He collects answers from the state's top two newspapers and two highest ranking state legislators.
Here's a preview of the legislative opinion.
Note this: both the speakers are REPUBLICANS.
The view from the Senate:
"She's not prepared to be governor. How can she be prepared to be vice president or president?" said Lyda Green, the president of the State Senate, a Republican from Palin's hometown of Wasilla. "Look at what she's done to this state. What would she do to the nation?"
From the House:
Another top Republican, John Harris, the speaker of the House, when asked about her qualifications for Veep, replied with this: "She's old enough. She's a U.S. citizen."
