Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz
*Group cites her commitment to the environment*
*Philadelphia*: Clean Water Action today announced its endorsement of Congresswoman Allyson Scwharz (D-13) in the 2008 General Election.
"We are pleased to announce today that Clean Water Action officially endorses Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz for the U.S. Congress," said Myron Arnowitt. "We are confident that she will continue work to protect Pennsylvania’s lakes, river, streams and drinking water sources as well as the health of our families and communities.”
Congresswoman Schwartz has been a leader in fighting to protect the environment. Going all the way back to her career in the State Senate, her commitment to the environment has been an ongoing theme for Congresswoman Schwartz. She has taken the lead in greening the practices of government and greening the operations of her own organization.
"We so appreciate Congresswoman Schwartz for joining us to restore the Clean Water Act via H.R. 2421", said Brady Russell, Eastern Pennsylvania Director of Clean Water Action. "She is a real environmental champion who votes correctly and also leads the fight to protect Pennsylvania’s water, air and the future of our planet.”
With the endorsement, through independent expenditure campaigns, Clean Water Action will lend its capacity and name to Schwartz's campaign.
"We will get the word out to our 4500 members in the Thirteenth Congressional District to help ensure Schwartz is re-elected," said Myron Arnowitt. "Clean Water Action’s volunteers and staff organizers may contact our members at their doors, on the phones and through the mail and talk with them about Murphy’s strong environmental record.”
Clean Water Action (www. cleanwateraction.org) has been empowering people for more than 36 years to take action to protect America’s waters and the health of our families. The largest grassroots environmental campaign organization in the country, Clean Water Action’s 1.2 million members take action at every level to make democracy work//. /
