Debate Party Question

So, our plan was that we were going to have a debate watching party to kick off the final couple weeks until E Day. I thought it would be pretty easy to get 100-200 people, and that it would be a cool way to get together. Then, something "interfered":

Assuming the Phillies don't sweep, game 5 starts at 8:20PM on the same night. That may or may not kill our turnout, but it would certainly make a bar owner less likely to turn over their business to us for the night. My ideal situation would be to have a bunch of TVs, half with the Phils on mute, half with the debate. But, the kind of bars that have that type of ability are the same ones that probably will be uninterested in limiting potential business for the Fightin's.

So, what do we do? Push ahead anyway? If so, we need to find the right spot.

Alternatively, we could have a big party on election night to celebrate Obamarama, or depending on results, the end of the world.

What do you think?

I think I need to watch the debate at some big public place

Because if I am at home I worry about the chances I'll end up smashing my tv.

We've been trying to do Lucy's Hat Shop or one of their bars, but aren't sure there is the right television set up. What are some other places you think might work?

Mace's Crossing

I watched the first debate at Mace's Crossing on the Parkway with my friend Ben. There were some amusing moments along the way, but, overall, I couldn't have asked for a better spot. We pretty much had the upstairs to ourselves, which has a very nice TV with good sound. If you were able to tell them you'd have 20 people or so, they'd probably reserve it for you. My guess is the place will be empty that night, too.

Debate Party Tonight

There is a debate party tonight at Coyle's Cafe 6080 Ridge Ave. in Roxborough.
Tacos are $1 and there is free parking at nearby Roxborough Development Parking Lots

Come on Out! and be Happy the Phillies the won in 4

onward to victory

that's my vote.

Well last night's is over

But Dock Street Brew Pub at 50th and Baltimore in West Philly and on the 34 trolley pulls out a TV for every debate, but never, ever, ever have a TV normally - for any sports event - period. Thats where I watched last night's debate over a burger and some fine, fine locally crafted beer.

I'm sure the same will be true for the last one.
