How To Solve The Eagles' Conflict: Give Us A "T.O. Show"
Okay, I know that this isn't really about politics, but who can think about politics with all of the trouble brewing over at the Eagles Training Camp?
We all know about the drama that's been going down since T.O. fired his manager this off season and most of us probably already have opinions on whose fault this whole thing is, who is being more stubborn or stupid, etc. Most of us can see that the Eagles and T.O. have backed themselves into corners from which they cannot escape, and that's where this post comes in. I have an idea for how both sides can come out as winners, with the Eagles maintaining their stand on contract negotiations and with Owens getting the payday that he feels that he deserves (a contention I agree with).
My proposal is quite simple really:
The Eagles can't pay Owens any more money themselves, but that does not mean that they cannot get Owens paid more money, and it certainly doesn't mean that the Eagles don't need T.O. I won't be the first or last to say this, but no T.O. equals no Super Bowl for the Eagles, which obviously hurts the Birds a lot. Owens, on the other hand, stands to gain nothing but contempt by holding out or by failing to live up to the high standards that he has set for himself with his incredible play.
So- I see no other way around this mess then this: Give Terrell Owens his own reality T.V. show, "The T.O. Show." Which amongst you wouldn't get a kick out of watching that strange but beautiful man go through his daily routine? How many classic lines would you get from just one episode of Owens acting out in front of a camera? Hell- I hate reality T.V., I lived through 2 seasons of a reality show (that has just been nominated for an Emmy) and I would definitely tune in to see what crazy shit T.O. would say and do. And you just know that Owens would love his own show, though whatever money he would make from the show would pale in comparison to his gains in the area he really wants to excel- getting more recognition and stardom.
The Eagles would facilitate the show by allowing the cameras limited access into the locker room, and by attempting to get some other Eagles to agree to put their pretty mugs on T.V. They would obviously have to have some executive control over the final product and would need to make sure that it didn't interfere with their operations (obviously it wouldn't air during the season), but whatever they have to put up with I think it's less than they'll have to contend with if they lose another SB, or worse, if they don't make it.
Philly is hungry for a title, and the Eagles CAN deliver it THIS season. But they can't do it without Owens. So please, please, please for the love of the City and all of its many Eagles fans, show T.O. the money! Give Terrell Owens his own show!!!

what reality tv show were you
what reality tv show were you on? what?
He was not on a show
Just inconveinenced by one, if you consider looking at Heidi Klum as an inconveinence.
Check it out...
I saw this last night on my trip from Philly to NYC:
The William sisters have a reality show. Now, I realize that the show is on the ABC family network, and an Owens show would almost definitely be rated "M for Mature," but you can't tell me there's not a market for this type of thing. And even though the Williams girls are a lot better looking, are you telling me you wouldn't rather watch Owens?
The reality show that I lived through was Project Runway, Bravo's highest rated show ever and the only non-network reality show to get an Emmy Nomination (and yes I was as shocked and appauled as you are that there is an Emmy for best reality show). Just to be clear- I wasn't on the show, nor was I really involved in it, it just invaded my work like a hurricane for the last two summers.(For those who don't know me- Dan's older bro- I've been attending and working at the New School in NYC for the past 6 years or so) One of my coworkers, and one of my favorite people at the New School, is however one of the main people on the show.
just because it's a quiet news season...
who can think about politics with all of the trouble brewing over at the Eagles Training Camp?
