I hope none of the journalists for Mumia are employed by credible media

A story accusing the mayor and the police department of violating citizens' First Amendment rights whose only source is non-specific hearsay from "two folks who are fairly well-known activists," wouldn't have cut it on my elementary school newspaper.

Questions
1. Is there any chance that any credible media is looking at this issue Helen Gym has raised about the 74 BRT employees funded under the school district's payroll, likely as a way to skirt the law in terms of political patronage? It looks to be a really juicy story and a tad more relevant.
2. I think somewhere in that thread there is a mention of an informal "press conference" in a playground near the house on Monday evening. Any chance of a more rounded account from everyone involved of what is going on in this case?
Edit - scratch #2 rereading the thread and the IMC page (which is perhaps where I got the informal "press conference" from) there is no longer a mention of the "press conference" so perhaps that has been cancelled.

Hi guys
I really dislike closing off dialogue, as a general principle, but comments were shut off on the other thread because in the absence of further information, the speculation was at best non-productive and at worst, potentially destructive. Can everyone please keep that in mind when creating and responding to new threads? Best, Jennifer
