Jack Kelly, Republican pretending to be Democrat
Submitted by phillyguy81 on Mon, 11/05/2007 - 6:16pm.
This sticker is on full display at the Girard and Front Street El stop.
It shows that Jack Kelly will do just about anything to get elected, even
lie that he's a Democrat.
As far as I know, Jack has always been a Republican, from the Northeast, for the Northeast.

Sure it's not left over from years past
Grace Kelly's brother, John B Kelly, Jr. was a city councilman for 12 years and, I believe, a Democrat.
One reason the current Jack Kelly wins, of course, is because of the confusion over his name.
Four years ago, someone, I'm not sure who, sent out a piece of direct mail saying something like, He's not the real Jack Kelly.
Actually more recent than
Actually more recent than that- maybe as recent as 99, but definitely 95, John B Kelly (I assume this would be Jack Kelly III) ran for Council At-Large, as a Dem, which is probably what this is from.
I think the clear
I think the clear implication of all of this is that there are way too many people in Philadelphia named Jack Kelly and they've all got to go.

Get to know City Council first hand and then judge for yourself the capability of this group to take on the huge problems facing our city. One or two visits to open sessions (I did about three years as a freelance journalist) and it becomes overwhelmingly obvious that we need elected officials with brains and energy to build any kind of viable future for our city. Hand-picked party loyalists, political muppets cannot build a bright future for our city. We need bright, energetic folks with a passion for really serving the public. This city has lost one million residents under the existing single party rule. Vote for the best and the brightest candidate available.
Political Muppets
I love it. Following the Buchwald rule, I'm going to credit you three times. Then I'm taking that phrase.
