We just got word that Republicans in the Senate are planning on blocking a vote on ending the war early this week. Let's be perfectly clear about what's going on here: Republicans are blocking the bill to stop the war because they know they would lose if it came to a vote.

We need to get the word...(more) out, and fast. Voters are already sick and tired of this war, but they'll be outraged when they understand that Republican Senators are preventing the majority of Congress from acting to stop it.

As Republicans prepare to filibuster, we're gearing up to hold citizens' counter-filibusters on Tuesday night. We'll gather at Specter's office with candles and signs to read first-hand accounts about the true cost of the war from Iraq vets and their families. Our citizens' counter-filibusters will remind Senators and the media that this isn't about partisan games—it's about peoples' lives.
