In honor of Bread & Roses Community Fund’s 30th anniversary we will honor 30 activists at this year’s annual Tribute to Change event. Honorees will be people who have created and inspired work in the Philadelphia area toward social justice in the past 30 years as well as those who are currently leading the way to the future. We will highlight the diversity of the issues, strategies and people involved in local movements for social justice.
We invite nominations from the community-at-large of deserving activists. Please use the nomination form below to nominate someone you know. Nominations can be made by anyone; each individual can make up to thirty different nominations. Potential honorees can be of all ages, all disciplines, and working in the Philadelphia area on any issue related to social justice over the past 30 years. If the work of a potential nominee is so closely intertwined with another person, or with several people, that it is hard to single one out, feel free to nominate two or more as a group. Your answers to the questions don’t need to be long but should make it clear why you think this person is worthy of special recognition.
To nominate honorees please download a nomination form at http://www.breadrosesfund.org/Downloads/Honor30forthe30th.pdf
Nominations are due by March 30th, 2007.

special nominations process
This is the first time we're doing the nominations this way. Usually we only nominate a few people. . .but for this year anyone can be nominated, regardless of whether or not they have recieved a specific award or honor from Bread & Roses before.
Bread And Roses = Awesome
This is one of the best foundations around. Some of their smallest grants have nonetheless really empowered amazing activism that wouldn't have otherwise necessarily had access to funding.
Just a pitch--I think it is a great way to direct your money if you want to contribute to progressive social change in the city and region and have a couple dollars or a couple hundred dollars to donate.
