Sister Mary Scullion, Independent Ethics Board and Time to Celebrate how much we Changed

Sister Mary Scullion appointed to the Independent Ethics Board makes me want to celebrate how far we have come in being a more tolerant city and a more tolerant nation. When Ed Rendell was mayor, he used to try to close church kitchens if they tried to bring food to the homeless on the street.

Sister Mary Scullion with Project Home's 95% success at managing to keep the homeless from having to return to the street is part of the reason why.

So is Obama in the White House the reason even why this country is less hateful of Hispanics. Remember back a few years ago when some communities were trying to zone immigrants away.

The Inquirer-Daily-News just quoted from the city's dry press release about Mayor Nutter appointing her. The Metro had a short piece with a positive title, and I posted something comprehensive on Philadelphia Independent Media,
