Philadlephia Forward's Skewed View of "Fairness" in City Tax Policies
Submitted by jstein on Tue, 06/17/2008 - 6:58pm.The discernable bias toward the city relying on and shifting city taxes to real estate taxation is readily seen in today’s Philadelphia Forward message from Brett Mandel. Brett riffs off the recent Philadelphia Parks Alliance report on the value that parks adds to our City (no controversy there) to assert beyond the report’s contents, that it additionally demonstrates the great value of the real estate tax system, and its need for a re-assessment because the latter can readily capture this added value.
