A Debate About Gay Marriage and Polygamy
Submitted by A Philly Progressive on Sun, 05/18/2008 - 8:34pm.Opponents of gay marriage often argue that accepting that practice will put us on a “slippery slope” to the acceptance of polygamous marriage. (See, for example, this piece from the Weekly Standard. Today the Inquirer published an essay by Martha Nussbaum that grasped the challenge of the “slippery slope” argument by saying that there is nothing problematic about polygamous marriage.
