The fight for a Strong Union Contract
Submitted by garybroderick on Wed, 09/26/2007 - 11:58pm.At the Hyatt Regency at Penn's Landing, we are currently in the middle of a fight for a strong contract. Philadelphia is full of service/hospitality jobs with more on the way, so the implications of this fight will be felt city wide. In the mean time, The Hyatt Corporation is up to the same old B.S, they try to give us unfounded write-ups to make us feel vulnerable, or like they're doing us a favor by not firing us. Below is a petition I prepared and was signed by 49 of my co-workers, I think it illuminates the issues of respect we are fighting for.
RE: My Final Written Warning
So I recently received my Final Written Warning for “Cash Handling Policy Violation.”
They claim they are missing my drop of $489.23 from August 10th. My immediate response to Leslie was, “just check the videotape” but she told me the tape was down for that day and the next.
