Let's be real: We all need more money and resources to support our efforts.
Bread & Roses is in an exciting transition with new staff and board members who have joined the organization in the past 8-10 months. We are positioning ourselves to leverage greater amounts of money and resources to support progressive grassroots organizing in the Delaware Valley area. We'd love to hear your thoughts and ideas of what Bread & Roses could be doing, as well as share some of ours with you.
Please join us this evening at 7pm to meet Bread & Roses’ new executive director, Casey Cook, and learn about new initiatives at the organization. It’s a casual short get together with drinks and food from Bitar’s Mediterranean Restaurant at the home of Bread & Roses board member Jethro Heiko. The co-hosts are: Matt Ruben, Maori Karmael Holmes, Sarah J. Christman and Jennifer Jones.
Friends and family are most welcome. This party is targeted at folks in the Fishtown, Northern Liberties and Norris Square neighborhoods, but all are more than welcome to come. This is part of a series of get togethers we are holding this summer in neighborhoods across the city.
For the address and more information email Jethro Heiko (jethro@actionmill.com) or Sara Zia Ebrahimi (sarazia@breadrosesfund.org)

Bread and Roses
Bread and Roses Community Fund is one of the most important progressive institutions in the entire city. Every year, they provide thousands of dollars of funding to social change groups across the region. The best thing about Bread and Roses (besides the cool people that work there) is that they exclusively fund activist organizations that are fighting for real change at the local, national, and international level. A lot of other foundations spend a lot of money on social service organizations, which is important, but not nearly as important as providing resources to groups actively working to change the system.
